What does it mean to own your sexuality and why is it important?

You don’t have to channel your inner goddess (or god) to start owning your sexuality.  Your sexuality is yours, and yours alone.  It belongs to no one, and you have the power to choose who will share it with you.  You have the agency to embody the sexual being you would like to be, without the expectations or limitations coming from the world around you.

Owning your sexuality allows you to explore and consent to what you would like to in that moment.  This helps you navigate the present sexual scenario, which is imperative to finding your pleasure and allowing someone else on the journey with you.  Ultimately you are finding your sexual voice.

When you come from a position of empowerment, it is easier to feel confident in what you are doing, receiving, giving, and allowing.  This does not necessarily mean what you like or dislike is exactly the same in every scenario.  Confidence helps give you permission, and with this permission you can then allow your body the opportunity to feel touch and sensations.  Confidence also helps fuel the erotic.  Tapping into your erotic blue print is pivotal.

Owning your sexuality is important so you can feel comfortable and confident in your sexual beliefs.  From that place, it is then easier to discuss sex with your partner(s).  Communication, confidence, and a better understanding of yourself & body will hopefully lead to feeling authentic in your sexual being and having a strong sexual voice.
